Paul Newland NEAC RWS

Paul Newland NEAC RWS has served as the Vice President of the Royal Watercolour Society and was its Honorary Curator until 2015. Paul is currently responsible for organising the Drawing School (the educational arm) of the New English Art Club.


Paul was born and educated in London’s north-western suburbs and went on to the Slade. He taught and painted, in London and the country, beginning to use watercolour in order to document street scenes and clubs in the mid-1970s.  His use of the medium was consolidated during a stay in Rome, 1975-76 and his subsequent one-man shows were predominantly of watercolours. Paul is an elected member of the New English Art Club and was elected Associate Member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1991 and Full Member in 1994.
