The Walk by Robert E Wells .jpg

Robert E. Wells NEAC RBA

Robert E. Wells is a highly acclaimed Yorkshire-born artist, known for his cityscape paintings as well as rural landscapes and figurative works. A member of the New English Art Club and the Royal Society of British Artists, he regularly exhibits his work in solo shows and the RA Summer Exhibition.

Born in 1956, Robert studied at Batley School of Art and Design in Yorkshire. Robert went on to work as an architectural illustrator. In 1988 Robert moved from Yorkshire to London to study The Illustration and Rendering of Architectural Spaces at the University of East London. Returning to painting Robert developed his range of subjects to encompass landscape and cityscapes, along with the people within those cities. Many of Robert’s landscape paintings are painted ‘en plein. In his compositions of people, Robert will depict only one or two people. As with his ‘en plein air' landscape paintings Robert will show a depth in the character and behaviour of the people being observed.
