Artist’s Statement
The majority of my work is based on everyday moments. This is no different and is worked from a photograph taken on a train journey north to Glasgow. The giant Unilever Factory looms over the modest platform of Warrington Bank Quay. Now closed, the factory made Persil & Surf washing powder. This early piece is very expressive and heavily focused on mark making, and the overall palette gives a real sense of the industrial subject.
