Medium: Mixed media - Emulsion, acrylic, charcoal, chalk pastel, oil pastels and conte crayons on board
Size: 75.0cm x 120.0cm (29.5″ x 47.25″)
I found this wooden board on the side of the road and immediately planned to paint on it. I love the idea of using something that's been abandoned by someone else. I worked quickly and loosely and used an image I have painted before on a smaller scale. I focused in on aspects of the piece, verging on abstraction with scratchy, expressive marks. I'm pleased with the outcome and think it works both as a recognisable street scene, as well as a semi abstract piece.
