Artist’s Statement

During the Summer I began experimenting with mediterranean colours. In this painting I have combined my mediterranean palette with wintery tones. My main focus for this painting was the perception of light. I aimed for it to look like a light was being shone brightly through the back of the canvas, lighting up different parts and altering the perception of colour. As with my painting 'Cascade', this is also a mixed media piece where I have used a range of materials for different effects such as salt, coffee grains and acrylic paint.

  • Daisy Clayton is a young, largely self-taught, contemporary artist from Oxfordshire. Daisy paints with acrylics to depict a balance of calming tones and contrasting colours. Generally interpreting significant places, landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes and harbours, she uses heavy texture to create depth, capturing the viewer by inducing memories and emotions whilst providing room for unique interpretation. Working around a focal point, she finishes her paintings by adding gold leaf, rose gold leaf or silver leaf.

Virtual Images - Where artworks are shown framed or within a room setting the images have been created using virtual/augmented reality software in some instances. The images are provided to give an idea of the scale of the artwork in the context of a room and the style of the framing. They should not be viewed as completely accurate e.g. the scale and the style/colours of the frame may vary slightly.

An online gallery with an augmented reality option is very forward looking and very appealing to the buyer.

The picture arrived this afternoon, very well packed and in excellent condition. It is indeed a very fine picture.

The painting is received and is a really nice small study-like work...

Thank you very much for all your help.
