Artist's Statement
This is one of several paintings that I did for an exhibition I held at an 11th century Abbey in France. I researched medieval images and one in particular attracted me of five women setting a table and so obviously gossiping. What intrigued me was the simplicity of the image and yet it said so much. I started to explore the theme further and these works appeared.
