Artist’s Statement
By way of artistic discipline and a new challenge, I often enjoy drawing people as they move about, maybe in galleries or airports or stations and sometimes, in life drawing classes. This painting began from a study of figures in an art gallery but to my eye, the figures began to merge with the colours in the background paintings and so I decided to work very intuitively and accept that the painting would go its own way and become an abstract, expressive merging of the subjects. Hence the title!!

Unexpected Conclusion by Gerry Halpin MBE

  • Gerry Halpin MBE lives and works in Greater Manchester, England. Gerry is an award-winning innovator who paints the landscape from above, an altogether different perspective, from that of looking from the more familiar ground level position. Gerry was appointed MBE in the New Years Honours List 2009 for Services to Arts and Charity. Gerry was until recently the President of Manchester Academy of Fine Arts. Gerry’s work makes a stunning addition to any collection.

Virtual Images - Where artworks are shown framed or within a room setting the images have been created using virtual/augmented reality software in some instances. The images are provided to give an idea of the scale of the artwork in the context of a room and the style of the framing. They should not be viewed as completely accurate e.g. the scale and the style/colours of the frame may vary slightly.

An online gallery with an augmented reality option is very forward looking and very appealing to the buyer.

The picture arrived this afternoon, very well packed and in excellent condition. It is indeed a very fine picture.

The painting is received and is a really nice small study-like work...

Thank you very much for all your help.
