Artist’s Statement
Taking a slightly higher vantage point from the headland, I followed the coastal curve of the land as it met the sea, observing the natural pattern created by a combination of erosion, the tumble of lichen dappled rocks, festoons of seaweed and sand surrounded tidal pools. Everything I need for inspiration is there on the coastline, only needing a discriminating eye to ‘see’ how those amazing, natural elements become ingredients for a painting.

Sea, Sand and Lichen by Gerry Halpin MBE

  • Gerry Halpin MBE lives and works in Greater Manchester, England. Gerry is an award-winning innovator who paints the landscape from above, an altogether different perspective, from that of looking from the more familiar ground level position. Gerry’s work makes a stunning addition to any collection.

Virtual Images - Where artworks are shown framed or within a room setting the images have been created using virtual/augmented reality software in some instances. The images are provided to give an idea of the scale of the artwork in the context of a room and the style of the framing. They should not be viewed as completely accurate e.g. the scale and the style/colours of the frame may vary slightly.

An online gallery with an augmented reality option is very forward looking and very appealing to the buyer.

The picture arrived this afternoon, very well packed and in excellent condition. It is indeed a very fine picture.

The painting is received and is a really nice small study-like work...

Thank you very much for all your help.
