A sea cave said to contain the Holy Well Of St. Cuthbert within its inky black recesses. Walking out from the cave’s dank aroma of seaweed and Limpet, and back into the bright, open, ozone freshness of the beach, is always a heady feeling. A meeting of two very different worlds.

Patricia Mattock lives and works in Leicestershire. Patricia has a love of nature, the great outdoors, and an enduring love of animals, and these are the subjects she invariably paints. Cattle, their soulful expressions, combined with the power of their presence, always tempt her as a subject. We are pleased to include some of these character filled works within the gallery. Patricia paints almost exclusively in Soft Pastel, relishing the richness of the pigment.
